Industrial Training

The Training for Industry Program, commonly known as TIP, is a nationally acclaimed program that has been providing customized training for new and expanding industry in the State of Oklahoma since 1968.

TIP is administered by the Business and Industry Training Services (BITS) Division of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. It is delivered through a statewide network of 29 area technology centers with 54 campuses equipped at a cost of more than $50 million. TIP is committed to providing companies with the skilled employees necessary to compete in today's global market and to maintain that competitive advantage for years to come.

Indian Capital Technology Center is a facilitator for the Oklahoma CareerTech Training for Industry Program (TIP). Through TIP, prospective companies can receive pre-employment, pre-production, and Industry Specific training to provide new or expanding companies with a productive, well-trained work force, ready to swing immediately into production as soon as the new plant opens.

Training is customized to meet the specific needs at the company. Specialists work closely with clients to identify training or services necessary to meet established goals. Programs range from basic skills, through Total Quality Management and ISO 9000 to the latest in organizational design and management training. In short, TIP will provide the training necessary to guarantee that your new workforce meets your start-up requirements.

Who is eligible for the TIP program?

The Training for Industry Program (TIP) is designed for out-of-state businesses relocating in our state, and for expanding companies presently located in Oklahoma. Training programs are custom tailored to meet the specific needs of the company. TIP is provided at no cost to the company, with the only requirement being the creation of new jobs for Oklahoma.

How does TIP work?

Representatives from your organization and ICTC will meet to assess the training needs of your company. We will work with you to design a customized training program by assessing competencies needed in each job category. A statement of understanding will be developed that outlines responsibilities, areas and length of training, number of employees to be trained, and other special requirements. There are no applications to complete or reviews by committees - just quality training delivered to your Oklahoma employees when and where you need it!

TIP has helped attract hundreds of businesses and industries to Oklahoma and helped them become more productive and profitable after their move. Oklahoma companies that have taken advantage of TIP training have benefited from decreased absenteeism, lower turnover, and reduced downtime.

Curriculum Development

Through customized planning, we can provide employee handbooks, training manuals, training videos and other customized curriculum to fit your needs. This program has been designated by the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education as a Regional Curriculum Development Center, servicing all of Eastern Oklahoma.
